Construction
Seymour Pools employ all our own design and installation personnel for every stage of the construction process ensuring the appropriate high level of expertise is guaranteed thoroughout each project.
There are 2 basic types of swimming pool and various methods of construction and finish available:
DECKLEVEL (Overflow type with balance tank) - Normally constructed from steel reinforced blockwork or shuttered concrete, and finished with specialist waterproof render and tiling, or with a marblelite/pearlite finish.
FREEBOARD - Normally constructed as above, but with the option of a heavy duty vinyl liner finish, available in a wide range of designs, plain or patterned. There is also the option of an on-site lining service suitable for commercial pools and renovations where the pool tank is no longer watertight.
Ceramic or one-piece pools are another option where the moulded shell is dropped in place, either as an outdoor pool, or in a new build where the pool hall construction can be built around the pool. These can vary from a small, simple and economical option, to a luxury unit complete with integral cover and extras such as inbuilt shower, water feature, spa jets, etc.
Another option which would be suitable in both decklevel and freeboard applications is a stainless steel tank which provides the water retaining structure and the finish in one. Although an expensive option, this is particularly useful in a situation where the pool is to be at first floor level or above, as it is considerably lighter than a traditionally built tank and is virtually guaranteed leakproof.
